Using Tempello with Clio

Tempello integrates seamlessly with Clio to automatically push time entries into your practice management system. Once connected, you’ll see 0.1-hour time entries logged in the correct matters with no manual input.

How to Connect Tempello to Clio

  1. Log in to your Tempello Dashboard
  2. Go to Settings > Integrations
  3. Click Connect to Clio
  4. A Clio login window will appear—enter your credentials
  5. Authorize Tempello to access your Clio account
  6. You’ll be redirected back to Tempello with confirmation

What Happens Next

  • Tempello will sync your matters, users, and clients from Clio to help with accurate matching
  • All new billable email entries are automatically pushed to the appropriate matter in Clio as time entries
  • Each entry includes:
    • Activity date
    • Time duration (0.1 hr)
    • Description (e.g., "Email to client regarding case update")
    • Linked Matter

Where to Find Entries in Clio

  1. Open a matter in Clio
  2. Go to the Activities tab
  3. Filter by user or activity type (if needed)
  4. You’ll see entries labeled from Tempello, with descriptions pulled from the email metadata

Sync Frequency

  • Syncs happen in near real-time (typically within 5–10 minutes)
  • You can force a manual sync in Settings > Integrations > Clio

Need to Disconnect?

You can disconnect Tempello from Clio anytime via Settings > Integrations > Clio > Disconnect. Data previously synced will remain in Clio.
